History as told by Jenna PayneOhioadult started in March of 2003 didn't start shooting anything till the following January . We incorporated in the May of 2005 so when Ohioadult actually started depends on your point of view.We have been in business for 19 wait 20 years. Growing up both my parents were very successful to attorneys; one in corporate law and the other in criminal law they had expectations of me going to law school They were actually talking to someone from admissions at Harvard.Both me and my sister were always on the honor roll always had straight A'sBut at 17 I made the decision she did not want to go to law school.a little bit of teenage rebellion, complete with smoking weed and drinking Let's see I had a few boyfriends high School I was the rebel type I got caught having sex with my boyfriend in public a few times then we started making videos just for fun with the big old school camcorders and one of the tapes his friend got a hold of and passed it around everybody and everybody saw it everyone loved it and then we made another one this one I made copies of and I started selling it Then I got an order of 20 of them it was the guy that owned the Executives Den and an adult bookstore. Next thing you know I'm hanging out at the strip club met some fellow dancers that were involved in adult films. I became fascinated with the industry . two days before I turned nineteen, I made her first adult film. Even though I was paid $800 the film went on to gross roughly around $800,000!! and that's when I went out to LA started my careerI get about 8 or 9 movies under the Mimi Rae (don't ask I didn't pick it out) I worked for all the big places Vivid Vixen Hustler Nubiles Bang Bros and then I became a PA and just watched and learned everything about the business but that's when I noticed that director producer all the guys had a really nice car the girls were taking the bus there so I realized there is a lot of money in the adult film industry and it's pretty fucked up that the people that aren't really doing anything are getting the most of the money. So that's when I had the brilliant idea of starting my own studio. But we were going to be different and it was going to be about women it was going to be inpowering and living helping people and we're going to pay better and do better than anyone else Women were going to be the one's who decided who they work with not being told you are doing a solo scene and when you get there it's an anal scene . And it's really a testament to Jeff that he still keeps the same values I had when I started this.I had me my sister I hired Jessica who I met while in Los Angeles had a guy Rob and a computer guy at the time my sister was dating this guy Jeff who i was told had a huge dick and definitely knew how to use it but Jeff he wanted no part of it I tried everything I could to get him to help us not only was he gifted in the physical attributes he was very charismatic he also knew how to write code and had built a few websites. We desperately needed someone who knew technology. So instead of coming at him with 15,000 or 20,000 I knew my budget was going to be on this and I offered him all of it $50,000 with this cold blank stare like nothing affected him at all he said okay the guy who's been eating ramen noodles for the past 2 weeks cuz he's broke just got 50 grand and he didn't even crack a smile not the kind of person I want to play poker with So now we have to figure out where to call this how we're going to market it how we're going to package it so I sent Jeff and Kassie to the adult bookstore to grab some of the amateur collections see how their stuff looks she would sells there ask questions if we come up with something similar . At the time the leader in amateur porn was homegrown entertainment It was being run by a guy named Tim lake who's real name is Farrell Timlake who struck up a friendship with Jeff very early on and has really helped him to evolve in the business more so than I ever could After a month he surpassed my knowledge he soaked it up and was ready for more and I had nothing to give him but Farrell fed his brain for years still is feeding his brain So we have our rip-off cover that looks very similar to homegrown at this point I have a verbal okay from Jeff nothing was written down nothing was signed no money had exchanged hands yet he saw it and he said no you're not going to put my name on something and make us look like a generic homegrown for going to do this for the carve our own path we're going to be us and we're going to own it give me 4 hours I will come over the packaging and everything 2 hours later he comes in with the mock-up for everything to send to the distributor or the boxes and all that stuff It is still the same design we use today It hasn't changed because it hasn't had to it's always made it very customizable interchangeable for whatever the video was When we got our check from distributor the first one I immediately called them and she was a mistake they put the decimal point in the wrong place our income around that time for our videos are profits we're usually somewhere between 8:00 and $10,000 And then we had buyback when we printed up too many and they sell we have to take those cabbage back so we always made our production around smaller so we weren't stuck with a bunch of DVDs when I called them they were on their sixth run that means they had printed burned and made 6,000 copies that first check from Jeff's test shoots was 103,000 to this day you still get checks from the original just textures not huge checks but they're already checks are still a couple hundred bucks just for that one whatever the current one is just pulling in for you $50,000. So at this point I have a reason I have to make as the boss the be all do all owner of Ohio adult I have to decide what direction we are going in was this just a fluke a one-time thing or is this where we need to be going everything in my heart mind and soul was saying stick with the mainstream stuff amateur stuff won't last it's crude cheap looking there's no makeup bad lighting T to for some reason I say we need amateur ideas for doing it for some reason I went against what I thought was right I want against what my mind and heart were saying and Took a shot I learn very quickly that doing homemade amateur stuff was a lot more cost effective We didn't have to spend $2,000 on sets or rent different furniture I had just paid rent for a $4,000 ft² studio for us that we use five times and then basically stop using cuz we're shooting outside we're shooting in hotels at this point a lot of things started changing with technology broadcast Blu-ray people are now concerned with frame rate resolution pixels So now I am investing in the best equipment possible The best edging software the best cameras We use Minolta for a while and then really settled on Sony should be our main video camera and I prefer final cut for our editing software I'm an Apple girl I like my phone my iPad and my iMac Jeff wanted to go with black magic The software at a time was free you still might be but to pay for the extras or the upgrades and then you have the boards they found picture your video mixer always a little knobs and dials and bars to go up and down and I couldn't tell you what any of them do I like to use the wheel playback wheel so I can speed through things go backwards it's the same kind of thing they use for instant replay in the NFL our first award season came around We are 2 years in but it only been out there from maybe 8 months Jeff got two nominations and he was not happy about it again with the notoriety and being he did not want any of it very camera shy at least actually no Jeff has never been camera shot he's always been the first person to do a pinwheel or the windmill whatever he calls it when he spins his dick around So this was our first awards we were invited to the expert awards in Los Angeles and the AVN Awards in Las Vegas so we took the entire month of January off just to crap writing to go shopping feel like you really need it I was so proud of all of us all the hard work everybody to put in not knowing what the hell they were doing Me not knowing what the hell I was doing to go from that to be nominated for awards it's crazy these are the things that go out to the fast not the best in the business We we're not the best we were kids that got like the right video came out the right time and we grew an audience very quickly still have that audience today and they are very loyal occasionally loyal people we were #1 on clipvia for 3 months in a row the entire time clipvia was around we were always in the top ten we released 4-8 DVDs s year we won a few AVN awards Jeff I believe had 2 Lindsey had 3 along with 2 xbiz awards At this point we are all flying high The original core always stays together there are a lot of girls that would come in stay for a few months do a couple shoots a lot of one and done girls these girls are the ones that like the idea of being in the business or like the idea of that money they make and most of them look at it as a solution to a problem if I go do this video I can pay my car off I can get out of debt I can get he caught up on my bills and they would come in shoot do a great job I'll have a contract or let's do it again at the next shoot in 3 months never hear from again We had a period of time 2007 2008 girls who come in they get paid they were dead within a week some of us been struggling or someone that has been having hard time putting it together and then all of a sudden you work for 3 hours and you have $10,000 in your hand for some reason a lot of people's first thought is that celebrate let's get high let's just let that at this poin t it's not spending your normal 20 30 bucks to get high and hang on your boyfriend You've got what it seems to you and I limited amount of money so you go over your show off tell him you want four grams Your body does not have that influx Even if you're not doing more than usually do it's the fact that your body is just consuming more over time and it is ready for it drugs have always been an issue in the industry with the exception of me and Jessica we're the only to you of the originals that have never had an issue with drugs now I'm going to hear Laguna you get high Yes I do it's something I'm very open about I have never done fentanyl I've been offered it I have been curious about it but seeing as many friends of mine die because of it I will never touch it 98% of the world she's their heroin from Afghanistan Is he deep rich purple color that is made completely differently than it is in Mexico heroin from Mexico is brown but dark brown until I like tan how it's cut United States it's 85% of it heroin from you guessed it Mexico since the cartels have taken it over and it's not a free enterprise system at once was people are putting fentanyl in it cutting it with different agents just to make a couple extra bucks I make one purchase a year and it lasts me all year once a week on Friday or Saturday night I'd tell her sister or whoever I'm with hey I'm going to get high can you come check on me about 10 minutes to make sure I'm okay I shoot up and I go into my own little fantasy world where nothing can touch me and I get my escape from reality never once and I overdosed never once have I been dope sick never once have I had a drug because I have what is called self-control well I can do more Yes I would but I like to be high for three or four days straight and have a good time absolutely But if I do that I'm breaking my own rules and that would make me no better than fucked up junkies out there that have no self-control my sister why love with all my heart was by far the worst junkie in the world the 15th or month she got her trust fun check It was 10,000 and then about 7 years ago each moved up to 15,000 due to cost of living increase in other factors but shit like the stuff After I got back Kelly and Jeff were together and they were really happy it was just me Kelly and Mom and my mom actually helped with the business she did all of our books and what guys I went to high school we ended up dating at the time I was kind of cheating on him with Jeff behind my sister's back also but then me and Jason really got into a good groove and he proposed me we got married had a little baby he wanted me to quit my business and focus on being a mom I tried for like 8 months and not me that's what I'm back to work he was very agitated and angry with me so start drinking a little bit more and then drinking became violent and then one night he beat the shit out of me and I called Jeff and he beat the shit out of him and Jason went to jail I filed for divorce Jason got out of jail two days later while he was in the hospital first then he went to jail and then in the parking lot of Parma police station Jeff beat the shit out of him again . then my son fell down the steps had multiple spinal cord injuries didn't know if he would ever walk again he finally did but he was having seizures the 2 months he was in intensive care Jeff never left the hospital everyone from ohioadult would stop in almost daily but Jeff never left our side his friendship and devotion to us really took me buy surprise my son's father came in about twice a week by the
came in about twice a week by the time my son Kellen was out of intensive care we both stunk pretty bad Jeff had a crazy beard but that was the moment we really became a family and we have been there for each other ever since.We were always there for each other Jessica's dad had a massive heart attack and died her sister who I parted with for the path cool chick she wasn't a drug addict by any means look a loss of her father pained her so much that she needs to try to fill that void try to feel something besides hurt and pain and loss she wanted to escape That's why people do drugs That's why I do drugs We will touch on that later One day after her father passes away from heart attack her sister dies from a drug overdose his life insurance barely covered the coffinWithout thought or hesitation Jeff and I love each other and knew what we had to do We paid for both funerals Jessica said no no I'll sell my car pawn my wedding ring Jeff said I'll buy your wedding ring right now 20k cash. 3 months later when her and her husband were celebrated their 5th anniversary that was Jeff's present to her but he got rid of the white gold went to Platinum had this stones we cut and shaped for better clarity and it was gorgeousMy son died a few months later from complications I was devastated to say the least my sister Kelly and Jeff were running things we were making about $700,000 in sales I basically just quit with my son gone I had nothing to live for kinda stoped everything disbanded ohioadult then I realized I have about ten million dollars in content so I decided to sell the company iknow I'm supposed to say and think nothing good at all came from kellen's passing now that it's been almost 10 years I can look back at things and realize a lot of great things came from his passion. Yeah me and Jeff fucked around here and there But I never took him seriously for anything he was Jeff he was a goofy fun plagthing for meBut when Kelly initially went to the hospital Jeff never left my side everyone else went00 am home went to work why not about the normal activities just commitment as a friend all I'll be to open my eyes and see you a little bit more than just a goofy play thing I found a extremely highly intelligent individual who is very deep very compassionate they're caring and a very honorable person somewhere in all of the hurts devastation and pain I found someone that I connected with on I love all that I've never fathomed before. As time went on the more I fell for Jeff the more I hated Jason I think had Jeff not been there that hate still would have come . For 63 days to solid months Jeff did not leave my side Jason under their hand came in on Friday after work spend 10 minutes talking to his son and made sure he was out of there by 8:00 so we can watch wrestling . He treated his son like a burden like an obligation Friday at 7:00 his conscience was clear he saw his son he could check it off his list. Steve would come in Monday Wednesday Fridays and Saturdays before his shift at the bar and he would bring a book and he would read to Kellen till he fell asleepThere were nights when she would bring in such a gripping book that Kellen wouldn't fall asleep he have to see where the story went and he would stay up Steve shift would start at 9:00 it's 9:30 and we still got three chapters to go in the book you didn't get out of the hospital to almost 11:00 at 10:00 I said hey you should go to work I don't want you to get fired because of Kellen he said if it happens it happens we are his family and you do everything you can for family people think the family first thing was me or Jeff It wasn't neither of us really thought that way until Steve All human beings are selfish and greedy by nature take unto what is mine We were all like that at one point somewhere in those two years we all have changed We all had personal tragedy or something happened with life changing and when it happened I gave Jeff an offer of 5 million he had a few people that wanted to come in with him but it never happened so video by video I sold off all the content we made in 7 years ended up with 12 million dollars for that ten million went to campaign contributions and charities for spinal cord injuries then I made Jeff an offer to buy the name and social media of ohioadult for like 100k he sold his car bike boat stocks bonds basically everything he had and he built ohioadult from scratch yet again we got divorced and then later the next year Kellen had a seizure he was 3 years old. That point I wanted to just run away so I told Jeff that me and him we're going to get a plane and go to Buenos Aires but she couldn't get a passport so the plan was for me to go for a week or two weeks and then come back and me and him are going to let Kelly know that we're going to be together and we were going to be happy we're going to try to start a new family and all that well what I was down there I was doing some drugs and wasn't thinking clearly and I met a guy who I thought on the nightclub many night clubs but it turned out la was and wasn't thinking clearly and I met a guy who I thought on the nightclub many night clubs but it turned out la was a drug dealer cartel persoand I came back up 6 months later my new boyfriend Jeff didn't speak to me for almost a year I have to address everything I haven’t really had a chance to talk to everyone just the couple people that I keep very close to me I’ve been away for 2 years. And I owe a lot of you an explanation about four or five years ago right after Kellen died I was kind of lost and I needed some meaning in my life I decided to go down to Rio for a few weeks hang out at the beach relax and just kind of get away from everything. While I was down there I met a guy he was very attractive very charming and successful and smart I thought he owned a couple night clubs and a couple other small businesses I later found out that I was wrong he was involved in a lot more. It turns out he was the biggest drug dealer in all of Brazil . I have had my fair share of dating different eccentric or crazy people I was married to Jason for eight years. Things eventually got worse I need to take myself out of the situation and I did I saw a lot of things happen and I am by no means a snitch or a rat I moved back to Ohio and a lot of strange things started happening months a9ófter I had been gone then one day there he was so me and Kelly decided to move down to Cincinnati start things fresh get away from everything so I could get away from the harassment and bullshit. I had a lot going on in my life I was ready to go back to work I was going to buy my company back and pick up where I left off a few years earlier but then I had issues again strange things I started to notice I’m not a paranoid person but I had this overwhelming feeling that I was being followed and watched one day I come home there are two cars in my driveway they were federal agents I believe FBI and DEA and they wanted to know what I knew so I told them when I saw I heard and they said that there was a contract out for me from the cartel at that point I didn’t want to put my friends and my family’s lives in danger so I decided that it was best for everyone if I disappear I am really sorry that I couldn’t tell anyone I actually had someone picked out to tell just to but it happened too fast and I left a lot of people stuck and screwed and I apologize with all my heart if I had to go back and change it I would so for the past 2 years now I’ve been in a suburb of Toronto teaching school to little children it was sorry I’m getting emotional it was the most rewarding experience of life my son didn’t have the chance to make it to five and helping these children grow and expanding their minds and making them ready for the next step just fulfilled everything I needed in my life . I missed everyone and I will mention everyone in my comments because I’m not trying to have this on everybody’s Facebook page . I miss going past a cop and turning your bass and volume up all the way.I miss irritating you.I miss running wild and embarrassing you in Walmart. I miss opening up the car door as we go down the street to freak you out. I miss taking pictures to hold over you. I miss that "I'm going to kill you" look in your eyes.I missed seeing your son grow up and that killed me I never thought I would lose you  I miss hearing you talk about him. I miss seeing you happyI miss you complaining.I miss our rants. I miss your rage . I miss you complaining about work. I miss you complaining about this girl or that one. I miss you so much Jenna I miss you complaining about anything and everything.I miss you.I miss your presence. I miss not having you by my side everyday.
